Our Team

How We Live

Our company is small. We only have 3 full timers as of 2025 even after raising our seed round from investors.

Because of the small size, we also realise that individual performance is strongly tied with healthy personal lives. We are not shy in actively promoting a fanatically healthy culture in our company. For example:

  • Toby and Wilson goes to the gym 5 days a week
  • Toby goes for long runs once a week (15km++)
  • Budi takes 15,000 steps every day
  • Toby does one meal a day with a strict portion control (either 500gr of salmon, pork shoulder or chicken breast with 6 eggs)
  • Budi and Wilson subscribes to a healthy catering meal plan
  • Budi goes for a 7 day meditation retreat annually with his beloved wife, Gracia

All side activities like gym membership, cold plunges, etc that benefits the body and the mind are fully sponsored by the company.

To close, we have an exclusive Recompound STRAVA group. If you are part of this group, you could view how the core team at Recompound exercises. You could join by becoming a Founding Member of our newsletter.

Recompound Mascot

How We're Building a World-Class Team

  • Performance > Credentials
    • We don't care whether you have been in the capital market for 10 years or 15 years or 1 year. Whether you have a CFA or a WMI or whatever certification. What we care about is your raw work output.
    • Similar for engineers and or any role that we choose to hire. We look at your performance period.
    • Your past accomplishments might mean something. But what matters more is how you contribute in your current Recompound role.
  • Do-ers > Talk-ers
    • This point is self-explanatory
  • Pay generously
    • We believe our employees are the greatest asset that the company has. So we want to pay them generously for the effort that they have put in

Reflect to Improve

Evaluating our performance

Objective

State the objective facts (facts only) that is happening.

Facts: "You wrote this on our code base", "You didn't reply client A's request"

Not facts: "Your code is messy", "You are sloppy and are never aware of client's messages"

Feeling

How does that make me feel? Not you (the person who's receiving the feedback)

My feeling: "I feel unsure or worried that other client's request are not met on time"

Need

Need: need assurance that our product caters to client needs.

Request

Therefore, could you help ensure that there is a protocol to ensure that clients' requests are met on time is delivered and communicated promptly?
